There are so many wonderful layers to Fitz that would just be the juiciest to dig into and make his character understandable and more likeable but alas. Her side of the story is actually given good spotlight.įitz, on the other hand, can hardly say the same. The reason I brought this up is because Pacifica is such a loveable character because her character has been properly explored. The shipping finally gets adressed, but it wasn't satisfying to me.So I don’t know from where this struck me but I’ve noticed a few parallels between Fitz Vacker and Pacifica Northwest from Gravity falls.īoth come from super rich and prestigious familiesīoth can appear to be stuck up and sassy (especially Fitz in the first book, but I loved reading sassy Fitz)īoth are hateable, but once you look at their upbringing and dissect their character they’re loveable and easy to sympathize withīoth carry a lot of pressure to uphold family legacy As always the way magic is described is just top notch, but, also, as always I wish we got the see more of it Sophie also deals with PTSD again, and I think it was done very well. There's a really cool battle scene in beginning of this book, and the gang also decides to take on dedicated battle training. After the things that happened in the previous book, it's decided that Sophie doesn't just need one extra bodyguard, but five, basically one from every species they've encountered Relationships are deepened and tested. His parents take him back in, but Fitz in particular doesn't trust him at all. Sophie and the gang are confronted with an enemy that is claiming to have lost all his memories. Or, the next two books need to be filled to the brim with reveals. There are only two more parts coming, and I hate to say this but I feel like the author may have written herself into a corner. Mostly I wanted more progression in the overall storyline.

Ok, this is my least favorite book in the series so far, and it is just, I think, because I wanted more from it.
